The eLearning journey is a collaborative process involving open communication, feedback, and revision. My Design Document is a crucial and early part of this process. By gaining a deep understanding of the audience, learner's needs, business goals, and performance outcomes, through careful and intuitive analysis, I am able to construct a comprehensive outline that brings to life the vision of the stakeholders and other members of the ID team. By using an open, iterative process with stakeholders, my Design Documents become living outlines that refine and align the learning process.
This design document details the Rouge- Conflict Resolution training. This is a high-level outline that includes the business goal and problem at Rouge, as well as the learning objectives. This design document allows stakeholders, project sponsors, managers, and others involved in the ID process to determine if the project is aligned with the learning objectives and moving in the correct direction before more development begins. Feedback is expected and encouraged at this level.
This Creating a Healthy Work Environment design document is the main document to outline in detail the high-level content of this training. All parts of the training from the business problem and goal to the audience and delivery methods are included. This is the main outline for this training so shareholders, managers, and the ID development team will be needed for feedback and revision before further development. SMEs will be especially necessary at this point to identify any missing content that needs to be included in the final training.
The Storyboard further develops the vision of the training, by continuing to guide the entire project from beginning to end. As the project grows, I am able to use the Storyboard as a detailed map to communicate the structure, content, and flow of the course with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project managers, making collaboration seamless. Stakeholders can confidently review the Storyboard to help ensure the training is organized, engaging, and aligned with the learning objectives. This also provides opportunities for feedback and revision prior to development of the module, making the entire project more productive and timely.
The storyboard for the Rouge- Conflict Resolution training is a much more detailed outline of the design document for the project. After revising the design document, the vast majority of content will be collected with SMEs and outlined in this storyboard, two to three levels deep. The visual design, including colors, font type, and the style of the project is displayed. The characters and dialogue are also included within this document. Scenarios, knowledge checks, and all final quiz questions are detailed, including answer choices. In addition, all of the interactions used to deliver the information and content are described in detail. This is the final round of feedback and revisions before the building of the actual training in Storyline 360.
